In conversation with florist, Seamus Phelan of FoMS

Describe what you do for a living? What does a typical day look like for you?

A typical day for FoMS is a very early 4am start. Phoebe (aka Phoebe Cutler) and I sometimes take the early market run in turns, otherwise we are together. Each day is different, starts with preparing the flowers, making bouquets for orders, doing installations, and working on future projects then hopefully an early night.

What inspires your creative style?

Everything, the people we collaborate with, our friends who are artists, we are lucky to have two minds - most of our ideas go through long conversations of yay or nays until we settle on something together.

What’s your favourite Brie Leon piece (and why)?

925 Square pendant necklace. Simple though stunning.

What are you reading, listening to and watching at the moment?

At this moment I am watching Carol, with our Cate. Regularly though, this lockdown I have mostly been watching cooking shows to disconnect, I discovered Chef's table. During the day, any RadioLab Podcast. Finally reading on earth we're briefly gorgeous.
